I am not sure what the U.S. Market is doing at the moment, but I hear it is finally beginning to mend and that soon enough this past few years will all be just a memory!
Here in Canada we too are getting on the mend. With interest rates being the key to encouraging consumer spending, let’s just hope we don’t find ourselves getting back in to that awkward state of affairs!

Great article, I agree with almost everything that you stated. Some banks gave over 100% mortgages. The US system is desgined to inflate the housing industry.

Last year they told me I was doing everything right and all I would need was the 5% down, so we saved $10000 and now this year they tell me I need 20% down. Its so sad that my partner and I make a combined income of $70000 and can’t even get into a $160000 townhouse, but are forced to throw away $1200/mth in rising rent cost. I just don’t get it…
